Today Was Not A Bad Day. You Just Had A Bad Moment.

Before I started this All About Growth journey I had consistent "bad days" where I felt like someone or something ruined my whole day and would continue on with how that bad moment ruined my good day. Looking at it now I am like "Girl, Are You Serious Right Now." Being able to take control back and say yeah something annoyed me or had me momentarily angry is so little compared to how I spent my entire 12 hour day.

So, this post is to all who have ever had a "bad day" where someone or something momentarily annoyed or angered you. For example, I waited 20 minutes in a Starbucks line for them to tell me they didn't have the ingredient to make my drink (fr this happened not even a few hours ago lol) and then I sat through a class that I could have easily slept through talking about non-relevant things. But guess what, in total probably an hour and 20 minutes I was in moments that annoyed me severely. However, I have 12 hours in the day, actually, WE ALL have 12 hours in the day probably more depending on when you wake up. But that is to say, you have so much time in the day that went smoothe that you should not focus on the hiccups that occurred. Once you realize how many more positives are happening in your life on the day-to-day basis, the negative moments you might have each day or every other week are going to feel so minuscule it won't even get to you.

It sounds so cliche you just want to roll your eyes back into your head but Think Positive. When I say think positive I mean it in the sense that you think about all the positives in your life (not just think about sunny day thoughts lol). For my All About Growth journey, I will be writing down all the positives of each week day-by-day so that at any point during the week I have something to reflect on when I feel down. So, if you feel as though every week is out to get you then start writing down all the positives you have on a day-to-day basis. Those positives can essentially be really general from "I woke up this morning" to "I got out of bed" to "I went to the gym" to "I picked up an hour at work." It works for anything positive or productive you did. For example, this week (12/2/19) I went to the gym several times, I talked to new students at my University, I made lunch plans with a classmate of mine, I Aced my Math122 exam, and I've been meditating and praying.

It can be that easy. Just take note of the positive things in life because I do not believe that everything in someone's life can be going wrong. There has got to be a little positivity and that little positive thing in your life can be your anchor and motivation to strive for more out of life.

I am only at the beginning of my journey and talking about it and writing on the blog post makes me feel like I am really accomplishing the things that matter to me which is becoming a better person all around and I love that.

Please feel free to comment below some things you do to remind yourself how a bad moment isn't going to ruin your day or how you go about making your day positive after that bad moment.

Also, is anyone on a growth journey like me??? If so, let me know how it is going, is it a bumpy road or what?

PS::::
I am planning on creating a financial planner for college students and young adults, would you help me out by taking a quick survey to gauge what young adults would like in their planners and their likelihood of buying one.
